In 2013, initiatives to enable most of the A&T
Bank’s business processes electronically were
completed.
In 2013, A&T Bank continued its efforts to have business
processes at international standards and made infrastructural
investments throughout the year to enhance information
technologies. Within the scope of these works and investments:
• Improvements in the Internet Banking Project were made
and acceptance test procedures were started. This project
is planned to be completed and put into practice by the first
quarter of 2013.
• Livelink application used as Document Management
System was upgraded to the ECM (Enterprise Content
Management). Within the scope of this undertaking, all of the
documents that have been loaded to the system since 2005
were successfully transferred to the new application.
• The Metastorm application was purchased as BPM
(Business Process Management) module. This task was
completed in order to manage the Bank’s 25 business
processes electronically; in the beginning of 2014, these
processes are planned to be used in electronic environment.
• Within the framework of compliance with MASAK, all of the
payment systems were restructured.
• The second phase of the new EFT system was put into use.
• The external software used for foreign currency-indexed
loans was cancelled and the new application developed by
the main banking system was put into use.
• CLM (Central Liability Management) studies was completed
and the system was activated simultaneously with manual
monitoring.
• Commercial Overdraft Account, Multi-Payment System,
Foreign Currency Check Clearing System, Treasury
Exchange Rate Monitoring System, and Safety Deposit Box
Monitoring System products were applied.
• In addition, an infrastructure established to enable an
encrypting system in the transmission of identity verification
parameters related to the T24 Core Banking application.
• ITIL V3 compatible IT Service Desk was activated; hence,
endeavors to improve service management between the
IT Division and business units in accordance to ITIL V3
standards started.
• In April in 2014, Microsoft will withdraw support for Windows
XP operating system. Accordingly, the work to upgrade
Windows XP, which is used throughout the Bank, to Windows
8.1 was started with pilot users.
• The infrastructure work to improve the System Room
in the Headquarters of the Bank in order to comply with
international standards as well as to meet the necessities of
the Bank that will arise in the near future was completed.
• As a result of a Penetration Test, which was carried out
by independent auditors as required by the BRSA’s
Communiqué on Principles, the Bank recorded a success
over the sector average.
• A&T Bank’s e-mail, web and PC security products that have
been used since 2010 were updated and thereby their
security level was improved.
• The Microsft Lync application, which allows the Bank
employees to send online text messages from their PCs and
mobile phones, was put into use.
Targets for 2014
• Applications for ATM and corporate co-brand cards will be
activated.
• Endeavors to establish an infrastructure in order to ensure
that payments to social security institutions and tax offices
that are made through the Bank branches will begin.
• The storage infrastructure, which is used by all applications
throughout the Bank, is planned to be renewed; thus, both
capacity increase and business continuity in case of a
disaster will be ensured.
• The core banking system T24 will be upgraded from R10 to
R13.
• In T24 system, the AA (Arrangement Architecture) module,
through which large scale product definition can be done, will
be put into use.
• The server infrastructure of T24 main banking application will
be renewed. Thus, banking transactions and IT operations
will be faster and more resistant to disaster situations.
• The undertaking to upgrade Windows XP operating system
to Windows 8.1 will be completed.
• Security infrastructure systems will be renewed and their
disaster resistance will be improved.
